Rocket – Tres Marías amazon Tres Marías Amazon is a large green parrot with a yellow head reaching the foredeck and upper breasts. The tail is green with a yellow-green tip. Orange eyes with white eye ring. Horn-colored bill.
It looks very similar to the Yellow-Headed Amazon (Amazona oratrix) but the yellow color covers a larger area which includes the upper breast and foreneck; also the color is a paler yellow. The upper parts are paler green and the underparts have a blue wash.
Tres Marías Amazon Juveniles only have yellow on the crown to lose. The bill is grey at the base. Brown eyes.
Amazona tresmariae (Nelson, 1900) – is a large green parrot with a characteristic yellow head.
With proper care, they can reach 50-60 years.
It was previously considere a subspecies of the Yellow-headed Amazon and categorized as Amazona oratrix tresmariae. However, recent studies split in 2004 and it is now categorize as Amazona tresmariae.
They are endangere due to habitat loss and trapping for the wild bird trade.

I own a 20-year-old Double Yellow-headed Amazon named Harpo. Recently, a few pals paid him a visit and were amazed by his appearance. Although they also own an Amazon, they claim that her color isn’t quite as vivid. Harpo has a rich hue and astonishing brightness.
