Lilly – Tui Parakeet Online -For Sale
Lilly – Tui Parakeet the Tui Parakeet looks like a miniature Yellow-crowned Amazon parrot (other than lacking the red wing highlights of the Amazon parrot). The plumage of the Tui Parakeet is generally bright green with a slightly darker wing, and a large patch of yellow on its forehead.
The Tui Parakeet is a small bird, averaging 6.5 – 6.8 inches (~17 cm) in length and weighing around 2 oz (58g). They have medium to short, somewhat wedge-shaped tails.
They have a dark reddish-brownish bill, white eye rings, and pale grey irises.
Description
These cute little guys come in many shades of blue, green, white, and yellow with black speckling on the head, back, and wings. With the proper care, they’re extremely affectionate and friendly.
We recommend not simply observing them, but spending a little time with them, too. Maybe even consider choosing a companion (preferably another budgie) for them to live with. Budgies are also great with children.
Though they may take a snip at you if they’re being mess with, their bites don’t hurt nearly as much as a larger bird’s might. This is why parakeets are some of the best bird pets out there!
They are perfectly happy in a cage, but they do need exercise. We recommend letting your parakeet fly around for an hour or so every day. Prior to letting them out of their cage inside your home, you should ensure that they are properly traine and clip their wings for safety purposes. We also suggest clearing a room of all other animals so they can fly around and exhaust some of their energy.
Identification
With a short, squared tail, the parrot is little. With distinct brown bases on the wings and an orangey face, the body is primarily green. Females have only green tail feathers; males have orange outer tail feathers. Rare endemic species from Brazil, limited to moist woodland, is normally silent while perched but is loud when flying.
